I tumble in a sea of darks and delicates.
the unit is still, and yet I
spiral.
I have lost my twin in this warm ocean of
cotton-rayon.
I know that we fold to make a ball of convenience,
but the tide pulls me under,
intoxicated.

I can press myself against the sleeves of
those I would not have met.
Had I stayed a conglomerated set of
practicality,
I would not have lost myself so
lucidly in these steely waters.
I would not have shed the stale scent of
another day gone by,
never felt this...

speaking of furniture.though it has only just occurred to me,
i know i've realized this before-
my lamp has seen it all, folks.

it's chrome base reflects my
arm, now, but i
have stared back into its
dusty, mirrored exterior before.

when you used to lie on
top of me, spent, the
figures in my lamp
danced methodically with
each inhale and
exhale.

i watch, child-like and fascinated as my
arms wrap tighter and
closer around the
pillow, who,
by the way, needs
proper instruction on how to
impersonate you.&nbs speaking of furniture.

doppleganger.panels of glass on a wall
hang in the dim, robin's-egg-blue room,
showing me the face of a person i
stopped speaking to a few months back.
she recently drove out of state just to come visit me.
i hadn't seen her in what looks like
eons on paper, but lets be real-
she was shouting up at my fourth-story window from the lawn
just two nights ago.

her voice was pleading with me to
drag my bones out of bed and
look through yet another
glass pane.
she has a gift for delivering the most fleeting of glances.
i mutter an almost legitimate excuse for doppleganger.

Reading: my biology notes.

the list, ya'll:

saturday: we're attending our first social function together in months. as in i'm her date. <3

next week: will be the second week of school. only fifteen more to go until i get to shepherd. not including breaks.

september 10: i'm almost positive i will be driving to asheville, nc to see miss deb, meet mr. ryan ashley, and others.

september 13: i'll be back in frederick.

end of september: i'll hopefully be getting my tattoo finished. cross your fingers.

halloween: i will probably have to work until midnight. ugh.

december 9: i'll be taking my last final exam at fcc.

dec 15: i turn 21. and it turns out that the extent of my evening will probably be buying my first drink out with my family and then going home. and i'm really okay with that.

i need to write more.
